Denver Faux Painting - Faux Illusions Denver

Carol Prendergast started Faux Illusions in 2001 after 16 years of working for tech giants IBM and Sun. After experiencing multiple lay offs, she decided to make a go of it in the design industry by learning faux painting in Denver, Colorado. Growing up in a creative family Carol often spent time drawing and painting as a child. Architecture and design were considered when attending college however, as a single parent computer technology promised to be a more lucrative career at the time. Carol did enjoy classes in Art History and Creative Design as a student earning a Bachelors degree from Southern Illinois University. While working for Sun, she earned a MBA in Business Operations from Regis University. Carol credits not only her natural talent and love of the decorative process for her success but her strong business background for keeping her in business for seven years plus.

Carol has attended faux finishing classes at the Faux Finish Institute where she became certified in Faux Effects products. Further training was taken at Surfaces Faux Finishing Studio and from various product manufacturers and dealers. She is familiar with Faux Effects, Adicolor, Saffra, ProFaux, Perfetto, American Clay, TexSton, Totem and various other professional faux finishing products. She prides herself on staying informed on new products as well as the latest design trends and new techniques, creating many of her own. Carol updates her training annually and is known among local faux finishers for her extensive product and technical knowledge as well as her creative abilities. You may have seen Faux Illusions at the annual Spring Home and Garden Show held each February or at the Home Decorating and Remodeling show held in October. Faux Illusions has also participated in several Parade of Homes. Faux Illusions can handle both small and large projects. On smaller jobs Carol will do the work on her own. For larger projects, assistants may be used in order to complete jobs in a timely manner. All assistants are closely supervised, assigned specific duties, and personally trained by Carol for the specific installation to ensure the work exceeds expectations and reflects the selected sample boards.
